Hanoi, Vietnam, is to be Vice President Harris’ first stop.
Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to South East Asia later this month for a planned weeklong journey to Singapore and Vietnam from August 20 through 26. This will be her second foreign trip since assuming office. Asia has been a central focus of the president’s administration as China’s government has continued to exert its control over neighboring nations.
According to White House Senior Adviser Symone Sanders, the vice president “will engage the leaders of both governments on issues of mutual interest, including regional security, the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and our joint efforts to promote a rules-based international order.” Her trip is historical for another reason, as she will become the first U.S. Vice President to visit Hanoi, Vietnam.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the vice president and officials preparing for the trip.
- For Vice President Harris to seek God’s direction as she interacts with foreign leaders.
- For safe travel for the vice president and her entourage.
